Hi guys ,
Im currently working with a legacy MVC5 app that consists of the usual HTML, CSS, JS and MVC5 .Net backend inside VS. The html views consist mostly of inline horrible js and its very messy.
This led me wanting to work with new technology and I wanted to integrate React.js into the solution as a way to create react frontend views for new pages only.
Before choosing react, I messed around with Angular and I was able to add an angular app inside the repo, import the mv5 apis into a swagger.json and then develop seperately in the angular project wihout having to touch visual studio or work in the mv5 views at all.
When I then removed angular and added React, i was able to add the react project the same way but when it comes to importing the apis to use within react, I could not find a way. Everything ive seen online means I must import react directly into the mv5 app using nugget packages and then I can start writing react components (with jsx) directly in VS.
But doing it this way means I cannot develop solely in the react app and afaik i cant use some of the react features and instead have to code inside VS and create the .jsx files inside VS etc etc..
TL;DR: Does anyone know if theres a way to have the react app seperately from mv5 and import the apis from mv5 easily to be used in react components?
