I’ve done a tremendous amount of react development for web, and react native has always been on my TODO list. So I’m on vacation and (unable to turn my brain off) started thinking about whether you could literally write the same exact codebase, but deploy it all three ways. I know that for mobile, react native uses Android/iOS UI components when it renders. Could there be a similar suite of components for the web using React Natives API?
By that same token, is this even worth doing? Off the top of my head I can imagine that compatibility issues multiply when you go from supporting just browsers to supporting browsers and a bunch of mobile devices too. So maybe this falls into that whole “yes it’s possible, but don’t do it” category. Or that if I want the same code for web and mobile, a PWA is a better option?
Anyway, curious about people’s thoughts about this. Thanks.
