If you were to start a hobby project with NextJS and wanted to use relational DB, say postgres or sqlite, what would be your tech choices and why?
I was in a “Rails with React” pit for almost 2 years and feel a little rusty when it comes to building full stack with just JS. Last time I did, it was using Mongo with Mongoose package IIRC.
So what is the go to stack for a SQL based app? I just recently found NextJS and it seems promising in theory. The goal of the hobby project is to also see how viable something like that would be in my professional life. Dropping Rails entirely from the role of “front-back” especially, and just focus on JS would be ideal, but I first need a comfortable and reliable alternative to research.
